Zen Relaxation Garden

With this garden I had to transform a dirty old swimming pool into a garden for relaxation, contemplation and peace.

The Client wanted lots of planting to entice the birds and the bees and also to use some of the statues they had collected over the years. The small wildlife pool formed the central axis and from this radiates flint paths. Seated Metal Arbors were constructed and are now heady with the scent of Jasmine.

Energetically the garden was ‘tired’ and underground Sha lines needed clearing this was done with flower essences at Earth Acupuncture points. At strategic points I planted one small Cherry tree which represents birth and renewal and one Amelanchier Lamarckii for its beauty.

A raised hardwood deck was constructed to lead out of the main living area, I used ‘Shou Sugi Ban,’ a Japanese Burning Technique, on the posts.

Now the garden is bountiful with life, flowers and wildlife.
